GOLDEN MEADOWS - LEVELS 05-10
An open area of rolling hills, flower patches, and pretty meadows. It's a prime location in any season; beautiful and lively during the summer and spring months, colorful and peaceful in the winter months. Many young trainers come here to battle one another and the local wildlife.




KANDOR WOODS - LEVELS 10-20
A pleasant grove, well-maintained by local rangers and full of mostly-unperturbed wildlife. Walking paths and hiking/bicycling trails wind through the woods and most of the Pokemon here are accustom to the locals and visitors. It seems more a park or reserve than a simple woods.





SHRIEKING CAVES - LEVELS 10-20
Long ago there was an archaeological expedition here, fondly named "Dig Amaura", as researches had discovered conclusive evidence of various fossil Pokemon in the area. However, the site had to be abandoned because the researches dug into a system of caves, full of so many bats and hostile rock and ground type Pokemon. Gradually, the place was wrangled under control by rangers, but the archaeological team never resumed their work. Nowadays, many trainers venture into the cave system, battling through the bats and other cave-dwellers, to dig for fossils themselves. They have unofficially renamed the area Shrieking Caves, for the unending screech of bats. If a fossil is found, the trainer can bring it to the research lab to have the Pokemon restored. (There are no spawn Pokemon in the Shrieking Caves; higher chance to encounter bats.)





SNOWY PEAKS - LEVELS 10-20
This chain of high-reaching mountains and dormant volcanoes form Arafel's northern border. The peaks themselves are covered in snow all year round; only the lower altitude of the mountains experience a (still-nippy) thaw in the spring and summer months. The mountains are beautiful, albeit a bit barren toward the peaks, and they're an ideal location for skiing, ice-skating, and nature-wandering. However, this area tends to be quite treacherous in the winter months; rangers always expect a number of rescue missions at the height of cold season.




SOUTH BEACH & DOCKS - LEVELS 10-20
The southern shoreline of Arafel is by far the prettiest. The locals are proud of their home and keep the beach remarkably clean. Many tourists visit the shore as well as local families and their children, but they also share the beach with its many wildlife visitors as well. Even in the winter time, the shore is pretty enough to draw those folks who just like to look out broodily over the ocean waves. Long docks and piers reach far out from the shore for the local fisherman.





ANDAHAR RIVER - LEVELS 10-35
This wide river, fed directly from the mountains in the north, splits the western and eastern regions of Arafel. Bordered on both sides by woods, the river is a prime location for Pokemon and local residents alike. The river itself varies from fast-running and treacherous rapids, to placid areas ideal for swimming and fun.




SMOLDERING LAKE - LEVELS 10-35
At the far end of the dormant volcano chain that composes half of the northern region, there is a smaller collection of active volcanoes gathered in a suspicious crater. While none of these volcanoes have erupted in the past few years, the crater remains a hot bed of blackened, ashy soil, fumaroles, and hot springs.





OLD RUINS OF LUGARD - LEVELS 20-30
Here stands the husk of a town long-abandoned, broken apart and ravaged by the rise of the "Guild". Some say the blackened ruins are a sad prediction of what Caemlyn may one day become. Most of the ruin is rubble, as anything of value was long-ago stripped and looted. Nature has been taking it back over though, evidenced by the foliage that has grown through much of the gutted structures. The place is a beacon for most ghost-type Pokemon/haunted spirits, and only the bravest of adventurers (or most desperate of squatters/looters) ever pass through.





HEART OF AMAURA - LEVELS 20-30
This is the lower levels of the caves. The incessant screeching of bats gives way to a spooky silence only interrupted by the drip from the damp walls, and the sounds of creatures moving through water, or scuttling across the cave floors. The Pokemon are stronger here than they were in the first levels of the cave. But an adventurer must survive one cycle within the depths in order to dig for a fossil or evolutionary stone.




ABANDONED FACTORY - LEVELS 20-30
Once upon a time, most of Aringill's townsfolk were employed by this large lumber mill. But there was a nasty explosion that killed dozens of people and burnt down half the factory. The mill never recovered from this and now the place is an emptied, concrete husk. The factory was never cleared out or leveled and is now home to plenty of Pokemon. People rarely visit the place as local legends say it's haunted, since people claim that sometimes the factory lights can be seen flickering throughout the night. While some think this to be the tortured spirits of those killed in the accident, most know this to be the work of the Electric pokemon who like to hang around.





ARYTH OCEAN - LEVELS 30-40
The ocean is vast and dangerous, but also beautiful and abundant with Pokemon. The regions across this large ocean could never be reached by simple surfing, but if one were to surf out into the endless waves, they could find small islands. And about twenty miles from shore, there is also a posted dive station, where a person could get suited up to dive into the ruins located far below the surface.




ALTARA WOODS - LEVELS 30-40
Situated on the eastern side of the Andahar River, this forest is much more densely-packed and darker, more treacherous, than its counterpart (the Kandor Woods) on the western bank. Overgrown and untamed, it is the home to many dangerous Pokemon and also to a number of spooky legends and local myths.





WHITEBRIDGE CLIFFS - LEVELS 30-40
As the mountains grow closer to the coast of the Aryth Ocean, their altitude drops. They become more rocky, more barren, and certainly more treacherous, before they meet the ocean with a sheer, frightening drop. One must have the footing of a dubwool to navigate the hazardous terrain. Unfortunately, many trainers do venture into this hostile, rocky outcrop, as it is home to a number of reclusive dragon-types and rock-types.





OUTSKIRTS (CANYONS) - LEVELS 30-40
Venture far enough from the region and the terrain turns rocky, before cutting sharply downward into a long stretch of winding ravines, gullies, and canyons. It is not the most friendly of places, but has its moments of beauty and tranquility. A prime location for many strong Pokemon, but most of them are quite strong and unwelcoming to strangers.





OUTSKIRTS (DESERT) - LEVELS 40-50
Venture far enough into No Man's Land, and the region turns hot and sandy. While the heat and wind is unbearable to most, those who are properly equipped can traverse the area with relative ease. The desert offers an abundance of Pokemon, but most of them are aggressive and dangerous.





LUMINOUS CAVES - LEVELS 40-50
A beautiful, but admittedly-strange, cave system made almost completely of crystal and ice. In daylight, light filters through most of the caves and only when one ventures deep does it get dark and almost eerie. This is home to an array of psychic, fairy, and ice-type Pokemon, and even though its beauty makes it an attractive stop for many, the locals have a number of superstitions and scary stories about the caves. They say that beneath the beauty, and far in the dark, is something quite sinister and malicious.




DRAGONTOOTH COVE - LEVELS 40-50
Where the shore meets the sheer cliffs of the North, there is a beach of spooky repute. The ocean beats against the cliffside viciously, breaking against the jagged rocks and spires that jut crudely from the powerful waves like long dragon teeth. The sand of the beach gives way to sharp rock and slippery step the closer to the cliff one gets, and carved into the steep cliffside itself is a collection of crooks and nannies that could provide shelter for someone lucky enough to be washed ashore alive. The shoreline itself is known to be haunted, and rumors say the spirits are of those unlucky people eaten or thrown from the cliffs by dragons, or unfortunate sailors who were shipwrecked in the ocean.




DEEPWATER RUINS - LEVELS 40-50
Located about twenty miles off the shore, there is a dive station where one could get suited up to explore the awe-inspiring oceanic ruins located far, far below the water's surface. There are many strong, Pokemon to be found in these depths, but one better be careful — most are not friendly.




TAR VALON ISLAND - LEVELS 50-70
Sticking out from the ocean, not too far from the shore, there is a small, beautiful island with a single mountain peak. A bridge connects the mainland to the island, and once one has crossed the bridge, they will find a path leading steeply upward and around the mountain. This is Victory Road! Those seeking to become champion will travel this path and likely face their most challenging wild Pokemon or Trainers. Once they've battled their way to the island's center, they will find the Elite Four's gym located at the mountain's peak. One better be properly prepared before embarking on this journey to championship! (Pokemon encountered here are not considered common, unless found in a different Wild board, and are unable to be captured.)
