Swallowing Embers is a Pokemon roleplaying site with the addition of 'quirks' (inspired by BNHA/My Hero Academia). The site has a 100-word count minimum and accepts roleplayers of any level. There is a skeleton-plot for the site but we consider ourselves majorly character-driven. Arafel will be what we make of it — what you choose to cook up between your characters and other's. In Arafel, you're completely capable of living a peaceful life, getting caught up in chaos, or creating the chaos yourself. Battle your way through the gyms, the Elite Four, and claim the title of Champion! Be a scientist in the Guild, cooking up new ways to terrorize the region, or a Guild grunt who just revels in creating trouble. Stand up to and fight the Guild as a police officer! Or you could just take it easy! Be a civilian, a researcher, or a breeder on the ranches. The entire region is yours to do with what you will.

HOW DO I CHOOSE MY STARTING POKEMON?

[/a]. You have the option of choosing one level 10 Pokemon or two level 5 Pokemon as your starters. You get to choose their stats (ability & egg move), but their egg move must have a BP no great than 80. If you don't want to choose your own Pokemon, you have the option of 'randomizing' where you'll post a Lab thread and a mod will roll you starter Pokemon for you. This will randomize their stats and give them a chance to be a shiny.[/ul]

HOW DOES BATTLING WORK?

[/a] to calculate damage. In one turn, you are able to use one status move and one physical/damaging move. In each post, you keep up with your stats and your health (we use percentages and not exact HP), and you can buy healing items at the item shop in order to heal yourself. Using a healing item (unless it is a berry that the Pokemon is holding) will use up one of your move-slots. So if you heal with a potion, you can only use one more move, status or damaging.
