Swallowing Embers is a Pokemon roleplaying site with the addition of 'quirks' (inspired by BNHA/My Hero Academia). The site has a 100-word count minimum and accepts roleplayers of any level. There is a skeleton-plot for the site but we consider ourselves majorly character-driven. Arafel will be what we make of it — what you choose to cook up between your characters and other's. In Arafel, you're completely capable of living a peaceful life, getting caught up in chaos, or creating the chaos yourself. Battle your way through the gyms, the Elite Four, and claim the title of Champion! Be a scientist in the Guild, cooking up new ways to terrorize the region, or a Guild grunt who just revels in creating trouble. Stand up to and fight the Guild as a police officer! Or you could just take it easy! Be a civilian, a researcher, or a breeder on the ranches. The entire region is yours to do with what you will.

★ Rare & Banned Pokemon

~~RARE POKEMON~~ - These Pokemon will be a little harder to obtain than Common/Uncommon Pokemon. They can not be chosen as starters. However, they may show up as eggs in the egg shop and you may encounter/catch them in Wild Threads (as the fifth encounter in every five-encounter cycle). Of course, you can always check around breeding ranches to see if any have some available to breed. The base price of all rare eggs is ¥750.

~~STARTER POKEMON~~ - Starters are the three first Pokemon of each generation. You are allowed to choose them as your starting Pokemon when creating a character, but obtaining one otherwise can be tricky. They do not spawn in Wild Threads, except for Researchers), but they may show up as eggs in the egg shop. The base price of all Starter Pokemon eggs is ¥500.

~~FOSSIL POKEMON~~ - These Pokemon may not be chosen as starting Pokemon for your character. They will only spawn in Wild Threads as rare encounters. The only way of obtaining a Fossil Pokemon, otherwise, is by buying their egg, if it happens to show up in the Egg Shop, or by digging for fossils in the Heart of Amaura, which is the lower levels of the Shrieking Caves. A fossil can only be dug for after the completion of a wild thread in that board. Once a fossil is found there, it can be taken to the Research lab to have the Pokemon restored. The restored Pokemon will be Level 15, and whether or not it remembers its past life is completely up to you. Of course, you can always check around breeding ranches to see if any have some available to breed, as well. The base price of all Fossil Pokemon eggs is ¥750.

~~BANNED POKEMON~~ - These Pokemon can not be found or obtained anywhere. There is the possibility you may encounter one in a Site Event or an assignment, but they will never be captured or owned. They are legends.
